Overview
The Edge is committed to providing a high-level instructional progression for young climbers. From exploring the sport in Geckos to competing nationally and internationally with our Competitive Team, we strive to provide programming for every child at every level of development.
Philosophy
Our philosophy has remained constant throughout the 21 year history of our facility. We believe that physical pursuits provide a great atmosphere for young people to learn about life skills such as: discipline, dedication, dealing with success and failure, goal setting and self-discovery. We encourage each athlete to take responsibility for his/her learning and performance. All of our programs follow logical teaching progressions that allows for all athletes to improve at their own pace. Our programs are designed and delivered by a dedicated coaching staff including several past National Champions.

GETTING STARTED - Ages 6-8.

We believe that the first experiences in any sport should be about fun and exploration. We want our youngest climbers to fall in love with the movement, sense of adventure and environment that climbing provides. It is this initial passion that endures as athletes become more serious and start to train in later years. 

Our Geckos program for 6-8 year olds is designed to allow natural curiosity and exploration to flourish.
Geckos

Price: $115.00 + tax (includes equipment, climbing passes and coaching fees)

Ages: 6 - 8 year

Geckos combines climbing, bouldering, and camp style games and activities with climbing themes.. Instructors help facilitate exploration by creating individual objectives for each participant. Geckos can be taken more than once without being too repetitive.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Participants do not learn to belay in Geckos.

Gecko - Summer Camp 2013

Price: $125.00 + tax

Ages: 6-8

Come to the camp that reaches new heights!

This is a perfectly camp for little guys and girls who want to try climbing either for the first time or perhaps are not quite old enough to get in to Spiders.  Instructors keep things interesting with a great combination of games and climbing.

3 days/ 2 hours per day

Please Note: Camp Gecko participants do not learn to belay.

CLIMBING PROGRAMS - Ages 9-12

For the 2011/2012 season, we have redesign the climbing programs to make learning and the transitions between programs even easier.  Now there is only one program for you to register in to if your child is between the age of nine to twelve years old. 

Inside this program the instructors will automatically teach kids who have not yet learned how to belay and then progress them in to finer climbing technique on their own learning curve. 
Spiders

Price: $216.00 + tax for fall / winter season.

Ages: 9-12 years.

PRE-REQUISITES: NONE

Course Curriculum: Top-Rope Belay Skills, , Climbing Terminology, Basic Movement Skills and Postural Conditioning.

* The course fees do not include climbing pass for hours outside the class.

Spiders - Summer Camp 2013

Price: $195.00 + tax

Athletes learn all the essentials of the Top-Rope Safety system (belaying) in this 3-day course. Instruction is balanced with climbing and other fun activities to keep it interesting.

Both non-belaying beginners and past graduates of any Spider program is welcome in this camp.  The instructors will separate out the group as the learning curve is needed. 

Age: 9-12 yrs. old.

Teen Intro

Price: $59 + tax

For Teens who are new to climbing and want to learn to belay.

Runs at the same time as our Adult Intro. Teens are taught using slightly modified equipment specially designed for younger/lighter belayers.
